Getting Ready
Little fluffy clouds in the blue sky as you pulled up to The Barn at Pineridge, you could feel it in the air that it was going to be a special day. Mikayla was ready to go with her ladies, helping arrange the last minute details of the wedding reception space and enjoying the beautiful morning. She already looked like a vision – even in her getting ready outfit! Her smile was from ear to ear as she walked around!
In the meantime, Jesse was enjoying his morning with his guys in the cabins at the back of the venue. If you got close, you could hear them laughing with beers in hand. Since the cabins were right next door to each other, we had to be extra careful to make sure these two didn’t see each other!
We got Mikayla ready in her dress with her mama, then positioned her bridesmaids for the reveal. Once they all opened their eyes, the gasps and huge smiles started before they all wrapped her up in a big hug – her little flower girls included! It was so precious! Then after carefully hiding our bride away, it was time for Jesse to get ready. They got their vests on among the pine trees, then headed up to the venue for some groom with groomsmen photos. It was a little hot that day, so we got those done quickly so we could get them back into some shaded areas and get Mikayla up to the venue for portraits and the ceremony.
The Ceremony
In front of the barn, white chairs lined facing the arbor that overlooks pine trees and fields, Mikayla made her way down the aisle to Jesse, tears in his eyes as his best man patted him on the back. Arm in arm with her father as he gave her away, this moment was extra special. Pastor Dave spoke of what marriage is all about and how it is a part of God’s good plan. The couple exchanged rings and spoke personal vows of dedication and commitment to one another, bringing many guests to tears. Now husband and wife sealed with a kiss, they made their way back down the aisle while friends and family cheered!
The Reception
Ready to celebrate, the reception space was decorated with touches that felt like M&J. Instead of cake, mini pies and donuts covered the dessert table, boho dried florals made for their centerpieces, and Mikayla’s new “Mrs. Burnette” jean jacket hung just above her seat. After grand entrances, the newlyweds made their way to the dance floor and enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife, followed by an emotional father daughter dance. It was beautiful! Their “I Do BBQ” was complete with outdoor s’mores and a food truck where guests could choose what they’d like to enjoy. And after speeches from the Best Man and Maid of Honor, guests were free to socialize or dance outside the barn on the starry summer night. The whole day truly felt like them – as it should be!
To the Couple:
Mikayla and Jesse, we are very happy for you as you start this new life together as a married couple! It’s so fun to watch two people who truly enjoy the same hobbies with each other and walk hand in hand no matter what comes their way. We were touched to have gotten to be a part of this amazing day, and we wish you the very best! Congratulations!!
