One of my favorite things about my job is when I get to reconnect with people I used to spend time with in high school, and Mikayla is one of those people! The two of us cheered together, and she was always such a sweetheart. Now that we are older, it is wonderful to get to see her so happy in her relationship and ready to get married!
Mikayla met her love, Jesse, after graduating high school when they both worked at Sweeney Chevrolet. Once she got to know him better, she discovered that he was actually her dad’s students at MCCTC, where they both went to school. They had never crossed paths there, but I think that shows their relationship was in the works before they ever knew it. They both get along super well, including their mutual love of hunting, and they spend lots of time in the outdoors together.
The Proposal Story
After moving into their first house together and getting their sweet pup, Denali (who made an appearance at the session), and a rooster named Hank, Jesse knew it was time to ask his lady to marry him. On New Years Eve this past year, Mikayla went upstairs, and when she came back down, Jesse was ready with a rose gold ring in his hand. She said, “YES!!” and now they are planning their gorgeous wedding for this coming May. It is going to be so beautiful!
Their engagement photos were actually taken at their wedding venue, which made it extra special to think about their day in just about six months. We ran around with their adorable pup, and adventured around the pine trees and fields. Through the chilly weather, they were happy to cuddle up and love on each other, and documenting this time for them was so fun! They love each other so deeply, and are each others’ best friend. I am so excited to celebrate with them in 2022!
