Sometimes a good first date ends with scheduling another one. Other times, you not only get that second date, but your best friends that tagged along end up together too!

Their Love Story

After agreeing to be the plus ones on their respective friends’ first date, Kelsey and Alec were certainly not expecting to meet that special someone that night too. That day, Alec found himself very much interested, but considering it was his friend’s night and being the gentleman he is, he decided he would wait to make any moves.

Soon after, these two became great friends, and when the time was right, Alec officially asked Kelsey to go out with him. Ever since then, these two have been enjoying life to its fullest – traveling all over the world from the Rocky Mountains to Amsterdam, to Berlin, to Portugal, and even Paris! They soak in adventure with their easy-going, kind natures, and it’s no wonder they’ve stayed in love so long!

Their Engagement Proposal

In March, K&A had plans for dinner by Sunset Cliffs. They decided to stop to soak in the view before heading to the restaurant when Alec decided to take a video of their outfits… except the outfits had nothing to do with the video. With Kelsey completely surprised, Alec got down on one knee overlooking the ocean and asked her to be his forever. But even more special than the question itself, Alec had designed the perfect ring that held precious family stones. Every piece of the proposal was so meaningful!

Their Black’s Beach Engagement Session

Meeting and celebrating their engagement with them during their session was such a blast! We explored the trail leading down to Black’s Beach in La Jolla, stopping at gorgeous spots along the way before making a quick outfit change, dancing, and running in the sand as the sun tucked behind the waves for the evening. There’s always something sweet about couples who are so comfortable together, and these two are such great examples of that. So authentically themselves, their love is deep and real, and we were so honored to get to witness it!
