As the two front doors at The Estate at New Albany opened into a bright foyer complete with a fireplace covered in white roses and candles, you could hear 1990s pop music and lots of laughter. Kristen and her bridesmaids were jamming out dressed in their robes – the girls in emerald green velvet and our bride in silky white. Moving into the wedding reception space, the vibe was total class. Florals decked out the room hanging from the ceiling, acting as lush centerpieces on each table, and filling an entire wall behind our bride and groom’s sweetheart table. Black and emerald dressed the whole place up, and a three tiered cake topped with “Mr. & Mrs. Williams” was perfectly placed in the corner.

Getting Ready

The makeup artists were finishing up lashes as the stylists were touching up curls, and we collected all of Kristen’s details. Her shoes were covered in stunning crystals which spoke to her fun personality and an emerald ring box held her diamond ring set. Her lace gown from Essense of Australia draped down the cream fireplace. Each little detail was perfectly curated and thoughtfully put together. It was such a reflection of our intentional bride!

The ladies, all finished being pampered, came out into the foyer to shower Kristen in love while she popped her champagne, then tucked themselves away as the guys arrived. Same as the ladies, Dylan and his groomsmen were so much fun! They enjoyed time together playing pool and drinking some beers before getting dressed in their suits. Dylan was a true sport when he let the guys throw him in the air for portraits, but we have to say that it was totally worth the effort! Nothing says excitement quite like an airborne photo, right?!

Once the guys were finished with portraits, it was time for Kristen to get into her dress with her mama and then have her first look with her bridesmaids. On a count of three, they opened their eyes and squealed at how gorgeous their best friend looked. She was a vision in lace!

The Ceremony

Guests found their seats and the entrance music started. Groomsmen paired with a bridesmaid made their way down the aisle before Dylan found himself waiting to see his forever love for the first time. Holding back tears, he watched Kristen walk down with her dad. It’s always really sweet when the groom is choked up looking at his bride!

Their ceremony was SO them! Filled with laughter and funny jokes, there wasn’t one person that wasn’t smiling the whole time. These two are known for building a relationship built on a strong friendship first, and that was so evident in the way they spoke to each other during their personal vows. After their first kiss, they danced their way back down the aisle as husband and wife, and it was time for portraits!

Portrait Time!

K&D’s wedding day was a little chilly this October Saturday, so we have to give everyone props for sticking out family formals and bridal party portraits. We swear the fun never stopped because not only is our couple a blast, but everyone in their lives are too! Family was smiling happily, no matter the temperature, and the bridal party was ready to bring it with their celebrating! It was a beautiful blend of teamwork, and we were so happy to get to work with a group like this! Kristen also KILLED it as the groomsmen threw her into the air too! Those old cheerleading skills never left her!

As the sun starting setting, the golden glow peered out from the clouds and it was time for bride and groom portraits. We always love this part of the day since it allows our couple to have (somewhat) alone time. They were glowing as they spun around in the light and they shared sweet kisses together before heading back in. These two could definitely be models if they wanted to! I mean COMMON! *Cue applause*

Wedding Reception

The last part of our day was the party! And as we’re sure you’ve guessed, it was truly a celebration!! The DJ introduced our wedding party before they iced the newlyweds. Their first dance followed to Bailey Rushlow’s cover of Still the One by Shania Twain. It was the perfect song for them since they’ve known each other since high school and were even prom dates before ever pursuing a relationship. These two are definitely “for life!” Skipping the slow dancing, K&D did a combined mother + son/father + daughter dance and jammed out around the dance floor. It was absolutely awesome and such a nod to the fun relationship they both have with their loved ones.

When it was finally time to open up the dance floor, you could find these two dancing their hearts out with all their guests and truly having the best time! Smiles and laughs were everywhere, and Kristen even spun around on the dance floor (pictured here in this blog because it was just too good)! These two are joy itself, and we are so blessed to have gotten to celebrate with them on their wedding day!

To the Couple:

Kristen & Dylan, we only wish we could do your wedding day every weekend! You both are the definition of what true love and healthy relationship looks like, and you remind us that life is way too short not to enjoy every second of it. Thank you for always being filled with love and laughter, and we wish you the very best marriage has to offer. You are AMAZING and so so loved!! Congratulations!
