Their Love Story
Just a few months before the pandemic hit in 2020, Jacqueline and Patrick both connected online and had their first date in downtown San Diego at a rooftop bar that overlooked the city. After three hours of talking and getting to know each other, Patrick got in his Uber and knew instantly that this girl and this date was different than anything else he’d ever experienced. By the second date, Jacqueline was feeling the same way.
They spent that first year getting creative with dates as they navigated a shut down world and getting to know one another. But while life was much different, being together during that time allowed for intentionality. This was the person they’d been waiting for!
The Proposal
This past summer, the pair attended their friends’ romantic wedding in Tuscany Italy. While abroad, they visited Rome, Florence, and the Amalfi Coast, where Patrick had so much more than limoncello and incredible pasta dishes planned.
Jacqui had always dreamed of having her Nanna’s wedding ring and making slight changes to it to make it her own. Because of that, she always figured she would need to be a part of the process and would have a good idea of when a proposal was coming, but her man had not only taken note of the family heirloom, but of Jacqui’s dream ring, crafting it perfectly to surprise her.
Still having no idea, even after Rick convinced her to wear the pretty white dress she’d packed, the two were navigating the seaside city of Positano. After deciding on the perfect spot, the cliffs filled with charming little houses and a gorgeous ocean sunset view, he leaned his phone against an umbrella to take a photo of the two of them, and let his knee hit the sand to ask Jacqui to be his wife. She was absolutely shocked and excitedly said, “Yes!!” (And, in perfect Italian fashion, they did score free limoncello!)
Their Del Mar Engagement Session
Now living in Boston, these two made time on their visit to see family and friends for their session in Del Mar! After weeks of rain, the beach was pristine and the glow of sunset illuminated their hair as they laughed and kissed along the sand. Jacqui in the cutest white ruffle dress and Rick in his classic white button down, these two looked like a Rom Com! But even more than their style, these two are very in love. The connection between them is gentle, joy-filled, and so sweet. They’re the type of people that feel like old friends the second you meet them, and it was such a joy to get to capture this season of engagement for them!
To the Couple:
