When it comes to Ohio fall sessions, the weather changes within seconds and you’re never sure what will actually happen that day. For most sessions, I try to avoid rain at all costs, but for Laura and DJs engagement, it was simply meant to be.

These two love birds met at a mutual friend’s party in college at Kent State University. They spent all night talking solely to each other, completely swept up in conversation, until they realized they were the only ones left in the room. Although, if you ask DJ how they met, he might tell you that Laura saw his dance moves and simply couldn’t resist him.

After dating for a while, DJ knew he needed to put a ring on it and came up with the perfect plan to surprise his girl. On the beach at Catawba Island in Ohio, they went to take some photos by the water with family around them. Since Laura was facing the water, he got down on one knee and all ready so that when she turned around, she was so surprised. He absolutely nailed it and she was so surprised and overjoyed.

I met this pair last summer for my couple session at the fair, and since then, they have been one of my favorite couples to spend time with. They are both so relaxed and happy to just be together. Not to mention, they are also absolutely hilarious and light-hearted! There is never a dull moment with these two.

When it rained on their session day (even though the weather app said it wasn’t raining…as it was raining), they were such good sports about it. We made sure to incorporate the beautiful fall trees while still avoiding the max amount of rain. These two are awesome, and I am forever grateful for them.
