Walking up to the white pillars at Niles McKinley Memorial Library, I spotted a perfect golden retriever ready for his parents’ engagement session. Sunset wrapping around the building, it was time to spend some time with the couple of the hour: Brooke and Mike.
These two met at Youngstown State University at a bar downtown after accompanying their mutual friends, Madison and Brandon. Mike thought she was gorgeous, and kept asking her out, hoping she would say yes, though she originally rejected him. Four months of asking later, Brooke finally said she would give this a shot, and started their first date meeting her parents. After some time dating, Mike moved to Pittsburgh and Brooke followed to begin their lives together, starting with their little golden retriever, Duke.
The Proposal
Last October, they planned a trip to visit a cousin in Denver, Colorado, and Mike decided that would be the perfect spot to ask Brooke to be his wife. A few weeks before they left, he got the ring and told their cousin his plan – he would get down on one knee at the reservoir overlooking the mountains. The first day of the trip, they went on a four mile hike and stopped at the spot to eat lunch. He told Brooke they should grab a picture with the perfect view in the background, and Mike proposed!!
They were supposed to tie the knot this September, but they decided to move it to the next September to keep their friends and family safe from the virus this past year. Although things did not go as expected, they choose to look at the bright side: they get a little extra time to plan their dream day!
Brooke and Mike, spending time with you two for your session could not have been more fun. Your amazing personalities made it feel like meeting friends you’ve known forever, and your day will be all the more special because of who you are. Just nine months until you are officially Mr. & Mrs. Gorgacz! Congratulations on your engagement!!
