“Will you be my sunrise partner forever?” Sitting on a blanket on the beaches of Hilton Head, Ashley was asked the biggest question of her life by the love of her life! An easy, “YES!” and it was time to pop the champagne to celebrate their engagement!
How they met:
In true cool kid fashion, Ashley and Joe met on Match.com a few years back! On their first date, they went to a trivia night with friends and had the best time together. Soon after, Joe was scheduled to go out of town, but made time before he left for a coffee date with Ashley! They chatted and enjoyed each others’ company outside Four Peaks, and knew this was something really special. After his trip, everything took off, and she got to meet all Joe’s friends watching professional bull riding!
An hour and a half apart, A&J visited each other frequently. Their first Valentine’s Day, they attended a hockey game, despite the four hour traffic trying to keep Ashley from getting there! That’s determination if we ever heard it!
But what’s most inspiring about their love story is that they stick together no matter what life throws their way.
Their Life Changing Story:
In May 2019, they got into a huge car accident, getting hit twice in a 6 car pile up. When Joe blacked out, Ashley went into superhero mode and got him out of the car with barely any scratches. A few days later, the two decided to get checked to make sure everything was fine.
While the car accident didn’t cause damage to either of them, the hospital discovered that Joe had stage 1A carcinoma cancer. Ashley stuck with him through everything, no matter how hard it got. When we think of A&J, the wedding vows, “through good times and bad, richer or poorer, sickness and health” come to mind. Their story tells us they will rock marriage!
The Engagement Proposal:
In December of 2019, Joe knew this was the girl for him and got the ring of Ashley’s dreams. He hid it in their junk room in snowboarding goggles where he knew she would never look or clean. He asked her father for permission, and on October 2, 2020 on a family vacation, Joe took a sunrise walk with his girl. Sitting on a blanket, Joe asked, “Will you be my sunrise watching partner forever?”
Three dogs later, these two are truly meant to be and are getting married this October! *Cue the confetti*
We so appreciate both of them, and could not have had a better time climbing around for their engagement session in Bell Rock in Sedona, Arizona and eating thin crust pizza with them! If only every day was like that!!
To the Couple:
Thank you, Ashley and Joe, for giving us the best excuse to take a trip to AZ! We cannot WAIT for your wedding! Let the countdown begin!!
