Tucked away in the serene and scenic community of Laguna Hills, California, Vicki and Bill celebrated a love story that proved some things are truly worth waiting for. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, their wedding day was filled with lush florals, heartfelt moments, and an abundance of laughter—a joyful celebration of life, love, and second chances.
Their Meet-Cute
Their love story began like a scene straight out of a romantic comedy—at John Wayne Airport, of all places. While waiting to board a flight to Phoenix en route to Texas, Bill spotted Vicki, who was on her way to visit her daughter. Struck by her natural beauty, he knew he had to find a way to talk to her.
Though she was focused on her travels and unaware of the admiring gaze just five rows behind her, Bill spent the flight planning his next move. Once they landed, he seized the moment and asked Vicki out on a date.
They’ve been inseparable ever since.
This past February, on Vicki’s birthday, Bill surprised her in their kitchen with a golden solitaire engagement ring and a simple, heartfelt proposal: to spend forever together. They had already built a life together—and now they would make it official in the home they share.
Getting Ready & Wedding Ceremony
The morning of the wedding was relaxed and filled with love. Instead of separate suites or rushing around in a frenzy, Vicki and Bill chose to get ready together, savoring each moment of anticipation. Their grandchildren brought energy and joy to the house, running around excitedly and adding a layer of warmth to the day that only family can provide.
The ceremony, held in their backyard, was intentionally intimate—just close friends and family gathered to witness this special chapter. The space was transformed with soft pink, peach, and blue blooms, wrapping the setting in a gentle, romantic palette. Vicki walked down the aisle arm in arm with her two daughters, a beautiful tribute to the life and family she had built. Bill couldn’t hold back tears as he saw his bride approaching.
In their vows, they shared deeply personal sentiments—why their love, though unexpected and later in life, had been worth the wait. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight.
The Wedding Reception
After portraits in the soft, golden afternoon light, the celebration moved into their reception. Round tables draped in crisp white linens filled the backyard. Each table was set with elegant white plates trimmed in gold, paired with light green napkins. Lush centerpieces in pinks, peaches, and blues mirrored the ceremony florals, while gold candles added a touch of glow. Gold Chiavari chairs completed the dreamy, garden-party atmosphere.
The newlyweds made their grand entrance hand in hand to a wave of applause and smiles. They went straight into their first dance—“Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli. What began as a sweet slow dance quickly transformed into a playful spin around the dance floor, full of laughter and flair, perfectly capturing their dynamic as a couple. They thanked their guests with a heartfelt speech, expressing how much it meant to have their support and presence on this meaningful day. Every person there held a special place in their hearts.
Dinner was a delicious, kosher spread catered by Blueberry Hill: comforting pasta, fresh salad, and warm garlic bread that brought everyone together around the table. The couple then cut their two-tier bundt cake, adorned with fresh florals to match their theme. Following tradition with a twist, Vicki did a bouquet toss for all the women present, sharing a moment of fun and excitement.
As the evening deepened, twinkle lights above began to sparkle against the dusk sky. The dance floor opened, and the celebration truly began. With music filling the air and laughter echoing into the night, Vicki and Bill danced under the stars—surrounded by the people they love, in the place they call home, celebrating a love story that proves it’s never too late to find your forever.
