Falling in Love at Medical School
These two first met eight years ago in medical school. What began as a friendship blossomed into a relationship rooted in deep respect, support, and shared dreams. For the past six years, they’ve faced the challenges of long-distance while Jenn finished her medical training. It’s been a season that required patience, resilience, and a lot of love. Though they both knew early on that they had found “the one,” they chose to wait until life allowed them the chance to truly focus on planning their wedding and their future together.
Their Carlsbad Beach Engagement Proposal
During a mini getaway to San Diego, that moment finally arrived. Gilbert had been carefully planning a surprise proposal, and it couldn’t have been more magical. With the ocean waves crashing below and the sun breaking softly through a veil of clouds, he got down on one knee and asked Jenn to marry him.
Jenn said yes excitedly, completely stunned that it was really happening. The evening light wrapped them in the most romantic glow, creating a dreamlike backdrop as we captured every laugh and embrace on the beach. After their proposal, they celebrated at an intimate dinner at Restaurant Lilo, Carlsbad’s newly awarded Michelin-star restaurant—the perfect way to toast to the beginning of their forever.
