Karissa and Kevin’s wedding day at Rancho Guejito Vineyard in Escondido was the perfect blend of heartfelt, emotional, and wildly fun. Set against acres of orchards, rolling hills, and some of the dreamiest golden light San Diego has to offer, their day felt like something out of a romance film: warm, intentional, and overflowing with love from the people who matter most.
Getting Ready at Rancho Guejito Vineyard
Both Karissa and Kevin spent their wedding morning in the brand-new getting-ready suites at Rancho Guejito Vineyard. The spaces are two sides of the same building, with soft natural light pouring through the windows (every photographer/videographer’s dream).
Inside the bridal suite, the girls got started early with makeup, music, and sips of champagne. Laughter echoed through the room as Karissa’s bridesmaids surprised her with a beautiful book filled with letters from all the people she loves most. It was such a thoughtful gift, and it set the tone for the emotional moments that followed.
Karissa’s mom helped her step into her wedding dress and fastened the necklace handmade by her sister-in-law, a timeless heirloom she’ll cherish forever. Then came one of the most touching parts of the morning: Karissa shared a first look with her dad. As soon as he turned around, everyone was in happy tears.
Meanwhile, just steps away, Kevin and his groomsmen suited up in classic black tuxedos with boutonnieres. The guys shared drinks, hung out with the ring bearer, and enjoyed a relaxed morning before the festivities kicked off. Taking a moment to look in the mirror, Kevin was ready to marry the love of his life!
Portraits & Ceremony in the Orchards
Karissa and Kevin chose to save their first look for the aisle, so they took separate wedding party portraits leading up to the ceremony. The anticipation was building and it absolutely paid off.
As guests settled under the orchard trees, Karissa stepped out from behind the branches, and the moment Kevin saw his bride for the first time, he instantly teared up. It was such a pure reaction and one of the most memorable moments of the day.
Karissa walked down the aisle arm in arm with her dad, who gently pulled her veil back before giving both her and Kevin heartfelt hugs. Their ceremony, held entirely in Spanish, beautifully honored their roots and first languages. After exchanging rings, they shared their first kiss as husband and wife and walked back down the aisle to cheers and applause.
Cocktail Hour & Sunset Reception
While guests enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres like bruschetta and charcuterie cups, the newlyweds slipped away for portraits beneath oak trees.
The reception kicked off with high energy as the wedding party entered holding fun, personalized signs celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. Barba. Karissa and Kevin shared their first dance to Que Más Puedo Pedir by Carin León, swaying as their families watched.
After dinner and heartfelt speeches, the couple made their way up to Rancho Guejito’s breathtaking lookout point, Eagle’s Nest. There, overlooking the vineyards at golden hour, they privately read their vows to each other—a quiet, sacred moment in the middle of an otherwise lively celebration.
Back at the reception, they each shared emotional parent dances before the dance floor officially opened… and it stayed full all night. The live banda brought the energy, the DJ kept the momentum going, and guests moved seamlessly between dancing, grabbing custom cocktails, and snapping fun photo booth pictures.
Surrounded by twinkle lights, mountain views, and the people they love most, Karissa and Kevin’s night ended just as beautifully as it began—joyful, intentional, and filled with unforgettable moments.
