Their Meet-Cute:

Walking down our high school halls, the sounds of locker doors clasping, class bells ringing, and buzzing conversation filling our ears, most of us hope our teenage crushes will be our forever partner, but few have the privilege of finding their lifelong love so young. But if you’re lucky, you get to grow up and grow old with your person, and that’s exactly how Karissa and Kevin’s story started!

Through sports games and dances, these two grew their friendship into a beautiful romance back in 2018. After graduating, they supported each other as they pursued their careers and college educations, even taking up hobbies like pickleball together. Their mutual drive to continue growing and becoming the best versions of themselves makes them a strong and inspiring couple to be around. It makes perfect sense why they’ve stuck together!

Their Sunset Cliffs Engagement Proposal:

Karissa and Kevin had been talking about engagement, knowing that this was forever, and were simply waiting for the right moment. Karissa was under the impression that the question would happen following her college graduation, but Kevin had the surprise set for sooner! Knowing she wasn’t expecting it, he asked her friends to plan a girls’ night out. All ready to grab drinks, she was very surprised when she spotted a red rose floral arch, an aisle of petals and candles, a sign that read, “Will you marry me?”, and her man awaiting her arrival. The sun dipping along the shoreline at Sunset Cliffs, Kevin popped the question they’d been dreaming about since their teenage days, a gorgeous pear cut diamond in his hand. It was an easy yes, and the smiles on their faces said it all!

After the proposal, the two celebrated with friends and family at their engagement party planned by Unposed Poppies. They ate delicious food, took a bite out of their cake, and danced the night away together underneath string lights.

Their Classic Balboa Park Engagement Session:

For their high school senior prom night, they took their pictures near the botanical garden inside Balboa Park, which made this location the perfect spot for the engagement session. Dressed to the nines, we started at the Casa del Rey Moro Garden, then headed to other stunning spots such as the Alcazar Garden and the Casa del Prado Theatre, making sure to stop at the same spot they took their prom photos at to re-create those moments!

Besides having a blast simply because they are so much fun to be around, their session was so special because they added special touches such as champagne to toast and engagement announcement newspapers. Those little things added so much to the overall vibe, perfectly meshing their personalities and pure class.
