It’s no secret that 2020 and Coronavirus has impacted weddings and engaged couples around the world in some of the hardest ways. This time has been difficult and stressful, but one thing I have learned comes from watching Morgan and Nathan!
Meeting these two last year, I had no idea what an impact they would both have on my life. But after two engagement sessions, numerous encouraging messages, and laughter-filled dinners, I am so lucky to know and have these two as friends. They are kind, selfless, and go out of their way to make every person around them feel appreciated and loved. These two kept their eyes on what was most important: their marriage.
I can’t imagine the stress of having wedding plans completely changed, but these two handled it with so much grace. No matter what happened, what we knew is that nothing could stop their love or the two of them tying the knot. They were excited to be Mr. & Mrs. Henry, and that was all that mattered!
When their wedding day came, I was more than excited to see my sweet friends. Morgan was the most stunning bride (as always) and surrounded by so many family and friends who love her dearly and were there to make her day so special. She bought THE most beautiful extra wedding dress for this year so that she could save the real deal for their one year anniversary reception, and this girl looks perfect in TWO wedding dresses!! Just wait until you guys see next years! For her bouquet, she chose unique wooden flowers which were soft to the touch and so elegant!
Once my sister and I grabbed all the photos of Morgan with her girls, we headed over to Nathan to see the ceremony spot! Family and friends gathered in Nathan’s getting ready room, which was filled with laughter, and he had a note ready for Morgan for her to read before the ceremony. He loves her so intentionally, and it is one of the things I admire so much about him!
The ceremony was a true testament to how much these two touch everyone’s lives, and Nathan’s grandfather said a beautiful prayer to honor Jesus and their new marriage! The shared their first dance in front of their guests since they could not yet have their reception, and after portraits, their friends threw a house party to celebrate with the bridal party. David, the best man, and the maids of honor, Tori and Amanda, gave small speeches to honor the couple before they popped champagne and we all filled our bellies with amazing food! They cut a sheet cake to celebrate (real one is saved for next year), and smashed some frosting in each others’ faces.
As my sister and I drove home, I realized that this wedding may have looked so much different than we planned, but it felt so much more genuine. It was a true celebration of Morgan and Nathan’s love instead of about hosting the giant party our culture is so used to.
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Henry! I am so honored to know you, and I cannot WAIT to break it down on the dance floor for your one year celebration! Here’s to what love is really about and your beautiful marriage!
