Imagine arriving at Peacock Ridge a gorgeous summer day, to see a beautiful barn with lush green landscape. The ceremony site sat in front of a lake where swans were playing. Walking down to the bridal suite, I saw giggling bridesmaids strolling around in navy floral robes, champagne in hand, making sure every detail of this wedding day was perfect. In the bridal suite, which was a little cottage, Michelle was getting finishing touches on her makeup and hair, and smiling from ear to ear. You could see how happy she was from the minute you saw her!
In her details bag were mementos, including her grandma’s pearls and vow books containing letters for the bride and groom to read before their first look. The girls were all giddy, watching their bestie put her lipstick and mascara on. Then, we stepped outside for her to read the letter Zach wrote for her. Tears filled her eyes reading his words, and it was evident that she is his entire world.
The First Look
Next, I headed to Zach and his guys to get some fun shots of them laughing and getting their ties ready to go. His grandpa was his best man, which truly showed how important family is to these two. After taking a second to read his note from his soon-to-be wife about their strong connection and the path that led them together, Zach faced away from the venue and waited for his bride to tap him on the shoulder. Turning around, I’ve never seen a bigger smile on a groom’s eyes. He kept telling Michelle how gorgeous she is, and gave her all the hugs.
M&Z’s bridal party was so joy-filled and ready to celebrate during their portraits, and you can almost hear the laughs when you view the photos. No matter the pose, you could tell each person was really supportive of these two.
After portraits came the ceremony, where they officially tied the knot! One of my favorite parts was when the doors opened as Michelle walked down the aisle with her dad, and it genuinely felt like a movie scene from the 1940s. It was that stunning! Once the ceremony ended and the family formals were over, we had the bridal party throw some petals toward the couple to celebrate them. Easily some of my favorite wedding pictures I have ever captured!
Cocktail Hour & Reception
Cocktail hour was filled with so many hugs and smiles as everyone watched sunset, and it was finally time for husband and wife sunset portraits. Ambient light wrapped around the couple while they danced, snuggled, and shared kisses against the ivy on the ceremony doors. The photos were so romantic and it is always so nice to see newlyweds getting some time to themselves on their day.
The reception was SUCH a blast, filled with delicious BBQ food, heart-filled speeches, including a poem by Michelle’s dad, and dancing like no one was watching. It was truly so fun and I may or may not have gobbled down some seriously yummy cupcakes!! One of the flower girls was twirling around like a little princess. Too cute! They exited with a sparkler send off, where the couple got to run hand in hand, which put a smile on every face.
Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Semelsberger! It was an honor celebrating you! Enjoy every second of married life and cherish all the little moments.
