On one of the cloudiest days of the year, Laura and DJ had the perfect outdoor ceremony planned – the beautiful florals, the double doors, and the woodsy backdrop. For a while, we weren’t sure if their vision would happen as the storm clouds came in and thunder start rumbling. But, as if God was smiling down on them, the rain stopped and the storm cleared just before the ceremony started. It was perfect!
Getting Ready
Arriving in the getting ready room, tones of blue were all around and lots of bridesmaids perfectly done up. Laughter was all around, and Laura, the glowing bride, looked like she stepped out of a magazine. Her sister helped her get into her dress as we prepped for her first look with her mama. When her mom’s eyes opened to see her daughter all ready, tears filled her eyes and the biggest smile danced across her face. Her little girl is all grown up!
Next it was time to spend time with DJ and his guys as they learned how to tie a bowtie – which is not as easy as you’d think even with a YouTube tutorial. Thank goodness for his friend who knew exactly what to do, and the guys were set. DJ opened a watch from his bride as a gift on their big day, and after some portraits, it was time to get these two married!
The Ceremony
It was almost magical how the weather ended up working out! The wedding party made their way down the aisle, then the doors were closed as Laura made her way behind them. 3…2…1… and the doors opened as Laura and her dad walked towards DJ. His smile said it all – he loves his girl! They opted for personal vows where they shared their deep love for one another and commitment for the rest of their lives together. When it was time for the first kiss, they went for a huge dip AND went in for a second one! It was so so sweet!
The Reception
After lots of portraits, the party started! Laura and DJ has their first dance on clouds, huge smiles on their faces. The room was decorated with gold and blue accents, and gorgeous draping. They looked regal spinning around!
Laura shared a dance with her dad, then with her mom and sister, while DJ danced with his mama. After all the formalities, it was time for everyone to make their way to the dance floor. Boy, was it a party!! L+D’s guests know how to have a blast! Guests also made their way outside to the bonfire to enjoy some s’mores, which was such a fun touch!
To the Couple:
