Getting Ready

Back at her childhood home, the birds chirping in the blue summer sky, Kirsten got ready for her wedding day surrounded by her family and friends. Her golden hair was tucked into a stunning updo, curls framing her face, and her smile shined as she popped champagne with her bridesmaids in matching robes. She was a vision! Once everyone was ready, it was time for her to get into her gown, and with the help of her mom, she walked out into the backyard to show her dad for the very first time. Taking a moment to look at his little girl all grown up, Mr. Appel twirled her around and embraced her.

In the meantime, the gentlemen were getting ready at the church just down the road. Justyn and his groomsmen were lively, bringing so much joy to an already exciting day. His best men, dad, and stepdad all helped him get into his black-lined, grey suit, his shiny black shoes and gold jewelry pulling the look together. Taking time to greet his family and friends, it was so evident how important family is to both him and Kirsten, and how long their loved ones had waited to see this day!

The Ceremony

Holy Family Parish was the backdrop of their nuptials – a special place where Kirsten attended both elementary and middle school. Seeing her for the first time in her dress walking down the aisle, arm in arm with her father, Justyn couldn’t take his eyes off her. Watching them both lock eyes, it felt like there was no one else in the room for those few moments. During Mass, Father Martin took time to speak about the covenant of marriage and how these two were so ready for that next step. Then, K&J honored their mothers with flowers before bringing some to the blessed mother and kneeling before her to pray.

After blessings, vows, and exchanging rings, Kirsten and Justyn shared a kiss and made it back down the aisle as husband and wife! Family formal photos followed before heading to the reception venue in Darlington, Pennsylvania for cocktail hour and more portraits.

The Reception

Though the June heat was very present that day, Kirsten and Justyn’s guests didn’t let that stop the party!
