The cool morning breeze in the air, we walked into the getting ready room to see our bride, sweet Jessie, getting her makeup on in a white satin robe. Wearing the biggest smile, we gave her the biggest hugs, then looked around the room to spot the bridesmaids, also in matching robes, their hair done up perfectly. It was finally time for Jessica and Stephen to tie the knot and the excitement was buzzing!
Getting Ready
After grabbing some gorgeous details Jessie designed herself (I mean LOOK at that invitation suite – wow!!), we got to capture some fun moments with the girls as they threw petals in their air and toasted to the lovely bride. Her mama, Holly, shared warm embraces with her little girl as they looked in the mirror and remembered all the times they had prayed for this day and the man to be Jessie’s husband. Hiding the bridesmaids away for a second, it was the most perfect mother daughter moment slipping her into her dress. Then it was time to show her friends!!
Jessica’s bride squad was incredible, encouraging her all day long! When it was time to open their eyes for the bridesmaids’ first look, all you could hear were gasps and squeals. It was absolutely precious. The ladies then circled around the bride and prayed over the wedding day and J+S’s marriage. Tears may or may not have streamed from our eyes watching it all. This relationship is so blessed and surrounded in Christ’s love, and that was clear from the first second to the last.
The Wedding Ceremony
Looking to the back of the aisle, Stephen’s eyes caught Jessie’s and the sweetest smile formed. I always say that while everyone looks at the bride, some of the cutest wedding moments are all in the groom’s face. This was certainly the case here. Jessie was a vision in white and Stephen was so clearly ready to make her his forever love.
During vows, they exchanged many promises to love and lead through Christ, to work hard at their marriage, and in Jessie’s case, try to never be late (which she can’t get out of now since it’s in the blog post, right?!). Once it was time for the kiss, Stephen happily dipped his new wife, then kissed her hand afterwards (one of my very favorite moments of the day). It’s official!! They’re married!
The Wedding Reception
Just like the rest of the day, the reception was a true party of the couple and God’s love in their lives and relationship! Maid of Honor, Lexi, spoke about how sweet this wedding was to get to celebrate not just one best friend, but two, and Best Man, Levi, shared wisdom beyond his years about how to love your spouse as Jesus loves the church.
Something J+S did so well at their wedding was making it feel like theirs. The guests were welcomed to toast with Capri Suns and could leave a message on the guest book phone by After the Tone, so the couple could listen to it on their one year anniversary. Camouflage even made it’s way into the day in Stephen’s tie – so very him! All the parent dances were beautiful, but Holly brought tears to everyone’s eyes as she danced with her daughter to a song she recorded when she was pregnant with her. Talk about all the emotions!!
Finally, it was time for open dance floor where the couple and their friends danced their hearts out! We’re talking all the groomsmen and all the bridesmaids out there having THE best time. It was a blast!! They ended the night with a sparkler send off and it was time for these two to head out for their honeymoon!
To the Couple
Jessie & Stephen, you are so darn loved! Not only by all your friends and family, but by Christ. Your love for each other is a reflection of a godly relationship, and it is such an honor to be a part of as more than vendors, but as friends. We are so proud of you, so excited for you, and so ready to encourage you throughout your marriage together for the rest of your lives. We love you and send all our love and congratulations your way!!
