Frequently Asked Questions
Do you Photograph things other than on the tabs on your website?
As a photographer, I am more than happy to take whatever kinds of pictures to best suit your needs (assuming I have the equipment and resources to do so). I have done band photography, small advertising in the food industry, lifestyle and event photography, and several other types of photography. If you aren’t sure if I can do it, shoot me an email and I will let you know or help you find someone who can!
Do you do prints/photobooks?
One of the biggest things I wanted when I started out this business was to allow my customers to control the price as much as possible. It’s a digital world these days, and I understand that sharing them on social media is a huge priority for most of my clients. Because of that, I give you a full online gallery of edited pictures in both color and black and white, which is included in your session fee. This allows you to download those pictures on your phone, computer, etc., at any point. I also give you a copyright release to allow you to print your photos wherever you like, so you are able to control where you get them from and how much you spend, if that is a concern for you.
However, while I do include a print release, I always recommend ordering prints through my professional lab. Why, you may ask? Because when you print through me, I can make sure everything turns out the way it is supposed to when it comes to quality of the products you are ordering. I also take care of every part of that process for you, making it more convenient for you and more exciting to see it all packaged up. We will set up an in-person appointment where we can discuss all of the options you have, pricing, and any other concerns you may have after your session and your gallery has been delivered! (The print products are not included in your session fee).
What is and how do I become a senior rep?
Every year, I have a team of special graduating seniors that have demonstrated leadership in their lives and be my spokes models to their schools and communities in exchange for discounts on their senior sessions throughout their graduating year. This program is so much fun, since my reps get special styled shoots throughout the year (that they get to help design!!), a rep session to show their friends the summer before their senior year, and their regular senior session at a discounted price just for being my rep. They get to develop friendships with the other reps on the team, and figure out how they can best make a difference in their communities. From there, they share the pictures from their sessions on their social media platforms in order to spread the word about my work, and for each senior they get to use me, they get a certain amount off of their session each time. For further information on what a senior rep does and discount prices, as well as to apply to be one, email me.
Can I bring someone with me on my shoot?
When it comes to shoots, most of us unfortunately aren’t naturals (myself included). My goal for your shoot is to make you as little nervous as possible, and because of that, I encourage that you bring someone who brings a smile to your face. Whether it is a sibling, a parent, a friend or all 3, bring whoever will make you smile and laugh the most! (I am also a total dog person, so as long as your dog is well-behaved and won’t interrupt your session, I am 100% cool with you bringing your furry friend)
What should I wear?
Depending on the shoot, there are different things I suggest. First off, always make sure you are comfortable in whatever you are wearing. Pick something that is entirely you and something that reflects your own personal style and not necessarily what is on the runways (unless that is the look you were going for). The less busy the patterns, the better. The focus should be on you and not your outfit. As for groups, I would suggest coordinating outfits. It works better than matching from top to bottom because it lets everyone’s personalities shine, but it keeps everything looking uniform as well. If you have outfit questions, always feel free to email me and I can help you as best I can! I have Pinterest boards and a click through presentation made especially for my clients to help them piece outfits together.
Do you travel?
I am more than happy to travel wherever I need to for your shoot. I love exploring new places, and I am so happy my job allows me to see the world. Depending on how far away you are from me, a travel charge will be applied. If you would like to know how much your fee will be, shoot me an email and we can figure that out!
What is your turnaround time?
This is one of the biggest things I wanted to prioritize when I first started my business. I understand that you want your pictures the second the session is over, and to be completely honest with you, I want to see them just as badly. The editing part of my job is what helps bring everything to life, and seeing how they turn out is just as big for me as it is for you. That being said, I give myself a grace period, in case something were ever to happen (1-2 weeks for portraits; 3-4 weeks for weddings), but the truth is, you will probably receive them MUCH sooner. If you don’t believe me, you can ask my sister about the fact that she can’t talk to me for the next few days after because I’ll be busy editing – lol!
