Walking down the lively streets of Coronado at golden hour, we met up with Carisse and Mike, along with their adorable pup, Frankie for their engagement session. Taking time to include their four-legged friend, we documented this memorable time in their lives as they await their big day next summer. We started in the suburbs, using the lush greenery to create different backdrops before heading down to the sand dunes, and finally, near the ocean. The day was cozy and glowy, not too hot or too cold. The beach was bustling by Hotel Del Coronado, but calm where we stood, and as if it wasn’t romantic enough, dolphins jumped behind them in the ocean as we soaked in the cotton candy sky before the sun tucked behind the mountain. It was nothing short of magical, and these two are so friendly that we couldn’t have had a better evening!

Meet-Cute & Proposal:

Connecting through mutual friends, Carisse and Mike went on their first date at a wine bar in Balboa Park. They hit it off instantly, getting along so well, and dated for a year. It was so clear that this was it! While in Ravello, Italy following a friend’s wedding, Mike had been carrying around the ring he had picked out to have ready for the right moment. Completely distracted because of a twisted ankle, Carisse had no idea that he had something extra planned. Throughout the day, he had been looking around trying to find the “perfect photo spot,” and finally saw the most beautiful view from the terrace at Palazzo Confalone. The Amalfi Coast behind them, Mike dropped to one knee. She was shocked! Her parents, who had accompanied them on the trip and knew, captured the moment before celebrating with delicious Italian food and drinks!

The fun didn’t stop there! These two spent time as a newly engaged couple exploring Europe’s old-world charm, traveling to Northern Italy, Brussels, and Paris. Imagine enjoying your new gorgeous ring and new fiancé taking in breathtaking views and walking down cobblestone streets!
