Imagine: you’re scrolling through Pinterest planning your wedding and find yourself on the perfect wedding day blog post. Each photo looks like a fairytale, every detail captured beautifully, from the invitations to the bride and groom photos. It’s a dream, and as you keep scrolling, you find yourself pretending it’s your wedding published in a wedding magazine.

In our experience, this is almost every bride’s experience. They want a wedding that not only reflects their love, but is so elegant and luxurious that every magazine wants their wedding in their pages. And we get it – we’ve been there too! So for the girl wanting the wedding day every bride dreams of, we want to share the secret: it’s all about the details!

We love detail photos for a few reasons, but most importantly because the details show off the real you: what you and your hubby-to-be care about! Are your details sophisticated? Are they full of family heirlooms? These little pieces help tell the story of your day in ways other photos can’t.

While we recommend adding as many special items to your bag as your heart desires, here’s our 5 Must Have’s in your Bridal Details Bag:

1. Shoes

This is an easy one! Each bride has the best pair for her, and says so much about her personality. Is she wearing heels or flats, full glam and luxurious or simplistic and chic? We especially love when brides use their shoes as their Something Blue, Something New, or Something Borrowed. Every girl needs the perfect pair of shoes, and documenting them is essential.

2. Invitation Suite – Envelopes included

While you may have thought of your invitation suite, we bet you forgot to include unopened, blank envelopes with that! Envelopes make the perfect backdrop for the cards themselves, and can add dimension to a flat photo (no pun intended). We recommend at least two blank ones, but depending on your suite, feel free to include more for RSVP cards!

3. Jewelry

That’s right, not just your earrings, but every little piece of jewelry! Bracelets, earrings, headpieces – we want it all! They make for the most glamorous photos, plus can add a little luxury to other detail photos. Have each piece cleaned and tuck them in your details bag.

*Pro tip: grab yourself a ring box from The Mrs. Box in your wedding color palette!

4. Loose Florals

Your bouquet is an obvious one to include for your detail photos, but loose flowers may escape your mind in the sea of wedding planning! Ask your florist for the extra loose flowers they used while making your bouquet and your imagery team will be sure to add that pop of color and elegance in all your photos.

*Pro Tip: Have your florist deliver your bouquet and loose flowers to your bridal suite before your imagery team gets there, but make sure they bring a vases to keep your flowers fresh!

5. Perfume

Not just any perfume – your wedding perfume! One of our favorite tips for our brides is to grab a new bottle of perfume for their wedding day. Something they’ve never worn, so that when they open it again after they say, “I do,” the smell will bring all the sweetest memories flooding back. Imagine spritzing that scent on for an anniversary dinner or date night and seeing your man’s face light up! Trust us, this trick is extra special!
